Family Anacardiaceae
A deciduous dwarf shrub with a large underground rootstock to 30cm high. 
It is found in open, rocky grassland and bushveld.
Leaves appear after flowering.
Fruit is eaten by birds, animals and humans. The skin is best discarded.
