Volstruisdruiwe (Zygophyllum simplex)

Family Zygophyllaceae
If I ever made a garden again it would be made up of many wild flowers and plants only. These from the Karoo and Nama Karoo need very little water and are a feast for the eyes as they come in many colours and shapes.
This would make a beautiful ground cover for a garden with its small yellow flowers which open in spring.
Their name translates to ‘ostrich grapes’.
